Investigators still aren’t sure about what caused the crash on the 75/85 Connector in downtown Atlanta, but it definitely did an excellent job of snarling up the Interstate system after the I-85 bridge collapse.
According to the AJC, the accident happened very early this morning at around 3 am. The driver of a tanker truck was cruising along the interstate when there was a serious crash with an SUV. This happened just in time for the Monday morning commute.
Hazmat teams responded because there were gallons upon gallons of diesel fuel and industrial chemicals spilled all over the roadway. It isn’t currently known whether the drivers were severely injured, though they were treated on the scene.
All of the lanes were blocked and they’re expected to reopen after rush hour is over. Unfortunately, the best alternative is through I-285, putting more pressure on the already beleaguered interstate.
What happened in the crash? Who is at fault? Who has to pay for the cleanup on the roadways? Those questions and more are the reason that personal injury lawyers like the ones at John Foy & Associates are hired. We get to the bottom of the situation. If you’ve been in an accident, give us a call.
