The AP and Time Magazine have reported on a horrific bus crash that has a lot of conflicting information. One this is for sure though, at least 10 people were sent to the hospital.
The Mount Zion Baptist Church was traveling from Huntsville to Atlanta on their way to an international mission trip. For reasons unknown, the bus collided with another vehicle. By the time the dust settled, there were many injuries. The bus had flipped over onto its roof and the car was pinned underneath it.
The police say that at least 10 people were hurt, but the fire department that also responded put the number at 21 people injured. Grady Memorial Hospital received 9 patients and other regional hospitals also received patients. Several of those patients were in critical condition. One official said that there was a death.
We’re sure to hear more about this over the next day or so due to the severity of the crash.
One thing is for sure. The victims and their families will want to know who was at fault. Did the bus driver act recklessly, or was it the other driver, or was there a combination of factors? People will want answers so they can get closure.
We also hope that the victims and their families are able to receive some sort of compensation for their losses.
