Channel 13 WMAZ CBS News reported recently that a Houston County, GA man was killed in a tragic single-car accident early Sunday morning on November 4.
According to officials from the GA State Patrol, the incident occurred around 3:00 a.m. in Peach County near the intersection of Russell Parkway and Housers Mill Road. A man from Kathleen, 29 years of age, was driving west down Russell Parkway in a Ford pickup truck when, for unknown reasons still under investigation, he went through the intersection and veered off the roadway.
He impacted a ditch and then an embankment before finally crashing into a tree almost two hundred feet away from the roadway, causing his truck to overturn. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by the Peach County Coroner. According to officials from the Georgia State Patrol, the victim was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, which is still considered an ongoing, active investigation.
