In April, it was reported that a driver high on heroin struck 3 boys standing on a sidewalk. Two of the boys suffered serious injuries in the accident. A third lost his life. Now, the driver has been indicted.
Ryan Lisabeth was indicted by a Fulton County grand jury on charges of vehicular homicide, driving under the influence of heroin, and other charges stemming from the April 15 accident.
If convicted, Lisabeth faces 32 years behind bars, Fulton County District Attorney Paul Howard stated on Tuesday, July 12.
The indictment alleges that Lisabeth was high on heroin and speeding down Joseph E. Boone Boulevard when he struck the three boys. 9-year-old Isaiah Ward succumbed to his injuries. His 12-year-old brother, Roland, received a broken leg and pelvis. The brothers’ friend, 13-year-old Timothy Hood, is recovering from two skull fractures and a broken leg.
Ward’s mother, Michelle, said that she would like to see Lisabeth go to prison for life without the possibility of parole.
“As far as how much time he is going to have — that is nothing,” she said. “My child is never going to come back.”
Lisabeth’s attorney did not immediately respond for comment. Lisabeth’s next court date is set for today, July 19th.
