An 8-year-old girl is a victim of a hit-and-run accident that happened around 8 p.m. Tuesday night in the 5300 block of Campbellton Road near Boat Rock Road.
Police are trying to track down the driver and are still trying to determine if the driver knew he hit the girl before leaving the scene.
The little girl, Jaleah Felix, and her sister were walking across the street when Jaleah lost her shoe. As she went to retrieve it, she was then hit by the SUV or pick-up style truck.
Jaleah was taken to Grady Memorial Hospital where she was first listed in critical condition but then later died at the hospital.
