CBS Atlanta Local News reported recently that a traffic collision occurred in the Noonday area in the morning hours of Sunday, December 27 that left four cars damaged and five people injured after a high-speed chase involving the Cobb County Police Department.
According to officials from the Cobb County Police Department, the incident occurred on Sunday morning along Canton Road near the intersection with Jamerson Road in the Cobb County community of Noonday. A white 2018 Nissan Sentra, fleeing a routine traffic stop, was southbound on Canton Road approaching the Jamerson Road intersection and disregarded a red traffic light. It collided with a white 2014 Lexus GX360 that was proceeding west along Jamerson Road through the intersection, which caused a chain reaction that slammed the Lexus into a red 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe. The Sentra then hurtled off the roadway into a parking lot, where it overturned and collided with two parked cars.
The Sentra’s driver was placed under arrest and taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, as were three others involved in the accident.
