I-75 outside of the perimeter has been under a lot of heavy construction. At the south end, the construction of Suntrust Stadium has caused a lot of roads to be rerouted and expanded. Along the corridor, new toll lanes are going up and are expected to open this year.
Unfortunately, this means that there are a lot of road barrels, equipment, and lane changes along the path that can confuse drivers. A large and dangerous pileup happened today on the northbound lanes. The AJC reported on the story.
A driver has been charged with multiple crimes after their Lexus drifted off the road to the right and hit a traffic barrier. The impact threw the car back into traffic and tangled up four other vehicles. Three people were taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. Traffic for rush hour was snarled for hours.
If you are driving in a construction zone you must take care. Lanes can change at any time and you never know where workers might be. Never speed through a construction zone. Try to take the safest path.
