Fox Channel 24 ABC Channel 16 WGXA News reported that a motor vehicle accident occurred on Tuesday, November 17 in Macon between a fire truck and a small passenger vehicle, although only minor injuries were reported.
The incident occurred, according to deputies with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, around 5:10 p.m. in Macon, Georgia. A fire tanker truck driven by a firefighter 31 years of age was driving west on Hardeman Avenue over the bridge over Interstate 75 with emergency lights and siren activated, responding to another accident site. As it approached the intersection for the Interstate 75 northbound on and off-ramps, the fire truck collided with a red Toyota Camry that was traveling north on the Interstate 75 on-ramp, driven by a woman from Gray 25 years of age.
The Toyota’s driver suffered from minor injuries and was taken to the Medical Center Navicent Health in Macon for treatment. None of the firefighters were injured, and no citations were issued.
