Channel 13 WMAZ CBS News reported on a 26-year-old Americus man that was pronounced dead at the scene of a wreck in Warner Robins early Tuesday morning.
According to spokespeople from the accident occurred in the area of S. Houston Lake Road and Tucker Place around 2:00 a.m. Tuesday morning. A 23-year-old Centerville woman was driving a 2007 Lexus RX350 southbound on S Houston Lake Road when she lost control of her vehicle, hit the concrete roadway median, entered the northbound lanes and hit a curb before rolling over into a fence on Tucker Place.
The driver was taken to the Medical Center, Navicent Health in Macon for treatment. The passenger, a 26-year-old Americus man, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. A Facebook post from the Sumter County Fire Rescue squad noted that the passenger was a long-time volunteer firefighter and U.S. Army veteran.
The incident is currently under investigation and eyewitnesses are asked to come forward with relevant info if possible.
