Cobb County Police have confirmed one fatality after a tragic crash in the suburban Atlanta area Monday afternoon, according to reports from 11 Alive news.
The accident took place near the Dallas Highway/Ward Farm Drive intersection in the Lost Mountain Park area, an area noted for frequent wrecks, around 1:00 p.m. Monday. A 2004 Ford Crown Victoria was westbound on Dallas Highway when it left the roadway near the intersection with Ward Farm Drive. It had a kinetic high-energy interaction with a utility pole, catching fire and being nearly destroyed.
The driver, a 48-year-old Hiram man, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Reportedly, no one else was injured during the incident, and the Cobb County Police Selective Traffic Enforcement Program unit reported his family had been notified of the deadly wreck.
