11 Alive reported recently on a tragic, fiery motor vehicle accident in the metro Atlanta suburb of Kennesaw, GA that involved at least a dozen vehicles and led to at least one fatality on the morning of Thursday, February 11.
According to a news release issued by the Cobb County Police Department as well as information from the Georgia Department of Transportation, the incident took place between 11:20 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Thursday, February 11, 2021 in Cobb County, along the northbound lanes of Interstate 75 just before Chastain Road (Exit 271). At least one fatality was confirmed, with perhaps more. The wreck involved over a dozen vehicles and shut down the northbound lanes of the interstate four hours, with surveillance cameras showing multiple cars on fire.
By 5:40 p.m. crews were able to reopen the express lanes of I-75, but the other lanes remained closed well into the evening.
