Earlier this week in Sandy Springs, Georgia women watched as her daughter and granddaughter perished in a fiery crash on Interstate 285 near the GA 400. The women were riding in separate vehicles after going to pick up the daughters vehicles from a local repair shop that evening. After losing sight of her daughter’s car she call her and was told that the car had stalled out in the fast lane. She told her daughter to try and get to the shoulder and she would exit the highway and come back around to get her.
Unfortunately the she was not able to maneuver the vehicle out of the fast lane and her car was struck by two vehicles traveling down the highway. By the time the mother was able to get back to her daughters vehicle the accident was engulfed by flames. Despite attempts of the responding officers both victims perished in the fiery wreckage.
The fatal accident had traffic on 285 westbound blocked for five hours as police went through the smoldering wreckage. Another person was taken to a local hospital for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
At this time the police have not stated that charges will be filed and the deaths are currently under investigation.
