CBS Atlanta reported on a single-vehicle accident in Lawrenceville on Saturday, September 26 with a tragic, fatal outcome for the driver.
According to spokespeople from the Gwinnett County Police Department, officers responded to a call about the aftermath of a fatal single-vehicle accident on McKendree Church Road around 3:00 a.m. on September 26. Preliminary investigations indicate the vehicle was proceeding down the roadway when the driver lost control and exited the roadway, impacting a tree.
The driver, a 36-year-old Lawrenceville man, was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident due to injuries sustained during the wreck. Investigators from the Gwinnett County Police Department believe excessive speed was a contributing factor in the crash. Police investigators continue to investigate the wreck and are asking witnesses or individuals with relevant information to contact the police department.
