WGXA News reported recently that a tragically fatal motor vehicle accident in the Macon area killed a local church pastor on the evening of Thursday, February 11.
According to officials from the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office and the Bibb County Coroner’s Office, the accident occurred between 7:20 p.m. and 7:25 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Thursday, February 11, 2021 in Bibb County, at the intersection of Industrial Highway and Liberty Church Road. A white Ford Ranger pickup truck was headed north on Industrial Highway when it collided with a Lincoln MKX SUV headed west on Liberty Church Road.
The Lincoln MKX was driven by a Macon man, 50 years of age, who was an associate pastor at a church in East Macon. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the wreck. The driver of the Ford Ranger was allegedly driving under the influence and was transported to Atrium Navicent Health where he is in stable condition.
