Patch.com reported recently on a daring rescue after a white Ford sport utility vehicle crashed through a parking deck adjacent to Emory University Hospital on Tuesday, September 29.
According to initial reports from the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, first responders from DeKalb Fire Rescue were able to save the driver. The precise cause of the accident isn’t yet clear, but early reports state that the driver backed through a wall on the second level of the Lowergate parking structure on the hospital campus.
The identity of the driver or his current medical condition has not been released by authorities. The parking deck remains closed until further notice, likely until repairs can be made to the structure.
This accident was the second similar incident this year after a woman got stuck in an SUV that fell over the side of a parking deck at the Buckhead Target and got wedged against a wall before ultimately being rescued by firefighters in that incident as well.
