Have you ever played any of the Grand Theft Auto games? While some find it fun to steal cars, crash into others, and run from police in a game, it’s not a smart idea to start doing this in real life.
A scene that could have come right from the game unfolded in Metro Atlanta late last week. A driver in a Hummer was at Piedmont Road and Garson when he suddenly hit another car and took off. Police say that the driver tore through Atlanta hitting at least eight other vehicles. Police are still looking for possible victims they might have missed.
The story ended strangely. At Spring and 16th, the suspect jumped out of the Hummer and tried to carjack a Porsche. Unfortunately for the carjacker, the passenger had a gun and shot the man in the stomach. That brief delay allowed police to get close enough to tase the man. He is now conscious and alert at a hospital, and likely under heavy guard.
