The Atlanta Police Department have their work cut out for them with a new case of vehicular homicide and aggravated assault. The police are actively investigating the death of a pedestrian that was hit and killed in southeast Atlanta on Sunday night around 5:30pm.
Family members have identified the victim, she was a 53 year old mother of 10. The Atlanta Police Department is reporting that the victim was intentionally ran over by a motorist. Witnesses have reported that the woman was trapped under the car and the driver then tried to back up and run over her again.
If there is anything good about this story it is that witnesses reported pulled the man out of his car and held him there until police could arrive. Police did take the driver into custody, but first he had to be taken to the hospital for observation, but will be booked into jail on charges of murder and aggravated assault. The driver and the victim did somehow know each other, reports the police. The exacts of their relationship are still not clear at this point, but police are saying that the two had an altercation about three weeks prior to this horrific event.
