A car accident can be a traumatizing experience for everyone involved. It can add to the shock when the other driver rushes away from the scene before the police can be contacted. There are steps that a person can take when these events occur. The first step, of course, is to ensure that everyone in the vehicle is uninjured. The police should be contacted next. Make note of the weather and traffic conditions. Write down the information of anyone who witnessed the accident. If possible, try and make note of the make, model, and color of the fleeing vehicle. If possible, try and record the license plate of the fleeing motorist.
