It’s hard to miss a school bus on the road, but they can also be hard to miss when you’re trying to avoid an accident. A reckless driver earlier this month crashed head-on into one in Cobb County according to AJC.com. Two children were injured.
In this instance, it was the driver of the car who was reckless. Police report that she was fleeing from another hit and run crash on Riverside Parkway before crashing into the school bus. Two children from the bus were taken to the hospital with injuries. Witness reports state that they were crying for their mothers. The age of the children is unknown, but the bus belonged to Bryant Elementary School.
The driver attempted to flee a second time but was caught. Her and the bus driver were both taken to the hospital for treatment. The two injured children were the only children left on the bus. Witnesses say that the bus had just left off a group of children before the crash happened.
If the report is accurate, the woman in this case is facing multiple criminal charges. The families of the injured children will also need to receive justice. From the evidence in the report, the bus driver couldn’t do anything to get out of the way. Therefore, the hit-and-run driver is responsible for paying compensation.
