Henry County police are investigating a serious dog bite case in Stockbridge, Georgia. What started as a nice walk with her dogs quickly changed to a life threatening situation. A lady was walking her poodle and blind sheltie on Willow Trace when she was attacked by “pit-type dogs.” Luckily neighbors saw this happening and called 911. Some neighbors tried to fend the dogs off with a broom.
When officers arrived a few minutes later they found the two dogs actively attacking the lady. Both dogs seem to be going after the lady’s neck and face. The two dogs were shoot on the scene.
A neighbor recalls seeing the dogs going after the lady’s neck and face. “I was scared. There was a guy with a broom trying to get the dogs, to drag the dogs off, but the dogs kept going at her until the cops came. The first officer comes, and, Bam, Bam, says neighbor Earl Johnson.
The victim was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center with serious injuries and severe blood loss. Animal Control said the dogs were Pit Bull Terriers and were out roaming the neighborhood before the attack.
The victim’s blind, black and white Sheltie ran away after the attack, but was found later that evening.
The owners of the Pit Bull Terriers have been identified by Animal Control. After a full investigation is completed prosecutors will decide whether to file charges against the dog owners.
