Serious pet attacks may not be as common as car crashes, but the aftermath can be just as severe. A dog was killed and an owner injured after two loose pit bulls attacked them in Fulton County. The AJC has the story.
The man and his small dog, a Bichon Frise, were walking in East Roswell Park just before 7 AM yesterday when two pit bulls attacked them. The owner tried to fight off the dogs and received injuries. Two witnesses also came to help the man. One of them hit one of the loose dogs with a piece of metal to stop the attack.
Sadly, the small dog was killed in the encounter. The owner managed to snap a photo of the dogs before they ran away too far. They both had leashes on, but no owner was in sight.
The owner was treated and released in the same day. The dog was cremated.
Police are now asking for help to find the dogs and their owner.
Owners are responsible for their pet’s actions. If a pet injures someone without provocation, the owner must pay compensation. We hope that the injured man will find the owner of the pit bulls and that justice will take its course.
