Lawrenceville Highway is one of the most dangerous roads in the Atlanta Metro area. Another deadly crash happened on it this morning.
The AJC has pictures of the crash. The passenger side of the car is completely crushed in. It was a fatal accident. Both sides of the highway were shut down for two hours while police cleaned up the mess and performed the investigation.
The news often likes to publish crash stories before the full picture is revealed. Quite likely, someone was trying to make a turn through the large intersections and failed to see the car. Lawrenceville Highway is a large divided highway and fairly rural. This can make people prone to speed and not pay attention to what is going on. The results speak for themselves.
Just because you’re not driving through the maze that is Downtown Atlanta or through the heavy traffic of the Connector doesn’t mean you can stop your vigilance. Rural roads can lull people into a false sense of security. Always be on the lookout for cars that aren’t where they should be, and don’t put yourself in such a position yourself.
