Atlanta is known for its traffic, but the most congested areas aren’t necessarily the most dangerous. While there may be more cars on the road, a traffic jam has a low rate of speed. A little fender bender there isn’t likely to cause a long-term injury, though it is possible.
Get on a clear interstate, however, and the situation is much different. Speeds go up and larger vehicles haul heavy cargo. This increases the danger dramatically, as a crash on I-75 in Cartersville demonstrates.
11 Alive reported on the incident. It was a simple crash. A tractor-trailer and a smaller vehicle collided. The force of the impact was enough to kill the car driver. The tractor-trailer driver was unhurt. However, to clear the wreckage and investigate the situation, police had to block off I-75 Northbound. Delays backed traffic up for hours.
We don’t know what or who caused the crash. All we know from the news is the aftermath. But the police will get to the bottom of it, as well as the insurance adjusters. If you’ve been injured in an accident, or you’re the family member of someone who was killed, you need someone on your side too when serious crashes like this one happen.
