In Douglasville, Georgia on Interstate 20 police are investigating an accident that took the life of a young girl on Sunday afternoon. According to the Douglasville Police spokesperson, just west of Fairburn Road on Interstate 20 two cars got into a fatal accident on the westbound side of the Interstate.
One of the vehicles was from Alabama and had three people in it; the wife was driving and her husband and young granddaughter were passengers. Police are reporting that the driver of the car from Alabama was thrown from the vehicle, which happened to be the wife. She and her husband were air-lifted to Atlanta Medical Center. Unfortunately, the granddaughter was pronounced dead at the scene.
There were three passengers in the other vehicle that were taken to Grady Memorial Hospital in stable condition and are fortunately expected to live.
