People have trees removed from their property for numerous reasons. Sometimes it is for aesthetic reasons. Other times it is to keep a tree that may potentially fall onto their home from doing so. One thing that is not expected is that the crane removing the tree from a yard will fall into the family home, completely destroying it. Yet, this is what happened to one Atlanta family as the Daily Mail reports.
Andy and Suzanne Williams were having a tree removed from the back yard of their home. Although why it was being removed is not being reported, the last thing they expected was the crane removing the tree to topple over. Yet, topple over it did, falling into the couple’s Brookhaven home.
The incident happened last Thursday and was reportedly due to the crane being overloaded with too much weight on one end.
Both Andy and Suzanne Williams were at home at the time of the incident, but neither of them were hurt. Both neighbors and people miles away reported being able to hear the crash.
Whether or not the home can be repaired or will have to be demolished or rebuilt will depend on whether the structural wall is intact. Whichever way it goes, the company who owns the crane has reportedly offered to pay for repairs or rebuild the house if need be.
It took three other cranes to lift the crane that caused the damages out of the home.
