The Tuesday before Christmas, an accident occurred in Hall County, Georgia.
The accident occurred at approximately 7:30 pm near the intersection of Poplar Springs Road and Sloan Mill Road. The Georgia Highway patrol reports that a 2010 Mazda 3i pulled out into the path of a 2013 Chevy Van. The van had been heading south on Poplar Springs Road. This caused the van to spin out and collide with 2005 Mazda 3i that had been heading in the opposite direction.
Geovanna Juarez, age 33, was identified as driving the 2010 Mazda. In the car with her were four children. The children were 3 girls, age 16, 8, and 5. The 16-year-old girl was taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center while the two younger girls were taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Sadly, the fourth child, a six-year-old boy, died in the crash.
The drivers of the other cars, James Cripps and Ashley Sosebee, both of Gainesville, Georgia, were also taken to Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
Authorities are trying to determine if Juarez came to a full stop before proceeding into the intersection into the path of the van.
