A bus driver is described as “devastated” over his alleged role in the deaths of two teens from a bus accident. 11 Alive is reporting on the continuing story of the fatal accident.
Last month, the two teens were coming home from the dentist when a school bus pulled out in front of them. Video caught the incident of the bus failing to yield after stopping. The teens didn’t notice the bus until it was too late. Both were killed at the scene.
The bus driver has appeared in court with his attorney. Currently, he is out on bond. He’s been charged with failure to yield and two counts of vehicular homicide. His attorney is urging that more investigation needs to be done, but they waived the probable cause hearing.
Both of the teens have since been laid to rest with military honors due to their intent to join the service.
The aftereffects of an accident involve everyone. Even those responsible or uninjured can feel emotional distress after an accident. That doesn’t absolve them from having to pay potential civil damages if a lawsuit is brought forward. If you need to be made whole after an accident, seeking financial damages can be a step toward moving on.
