FOX Channel 24 ABC Channel 16 WGXA News reported that the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a hit-and-run accident that took place in early October, injuring a local teen.
The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is attempting to locate the driver of a Chevrolet van that was involved in a hit-and-run accident on Thursday, October 8. The incident happened around 7:30 p.m. on that day along Rocky Creek Road. A boy of 17 years of age and his relative were walking along the sidewalk adjacent to Rocky Creek Road when a Chevrolet van jumped the curb behind them, striking the teen. The driver did not stop, continuing down the roadway headed south.
Deputies with the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office reported the teen was medically transported by ambulance to The Medical Center, Navicent Health, and was released from the hospital after making his recovery.
Traffic investigators say they are looking for a black Chevrolet van with possible damage to the front passenger quarter. Anyone with information is asked to call the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office at 478-751-7500, or Macon Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-877-68CRIME.
