Authorities are still searching for the 13-year-old boy who was thrown overboard in a boating accident Monday night.
Investigators said a drunk boater slammed into the vessel he was aboard throwing him overboard and killing his brother on impact. The pontoon boat was carrying a total of 13 people when it was hit and was being driven by the boys’ father, Michael Prince. Griffin Prince is now presumed dead.
Griffin’s 9-year-old brother, Jake Prince, would have entered 4th grade and Griffin would have entered 8th grade this fall.
The driver of the fishing boat, Paul Bennett, fled the scene. He was arrested several hours later at a nearby marina and charged with boating under the influence.
The search for the boy’s body continues as divers and side-scan sonar technology span a 100-mile area scouring through the murky waters.
