There is an old wives tale, a superstition, if you will, that things happen in threes. Let’s hope that this is not the case as a second accident taking place at a parking structure has been reported. This time, a truck and a parked vehicle were involved.
In Northwest Atlanta, a tractor-trailer crashed through a fence and then pushed a parked car over the edge of a parking structure.
The crash happened at around 7 am at the Collier Lofts Apartments on Collier Road in Atlanta.
Atlanta firefighters report that the truck had been working at a business next to the apartment complex when the driver lost control of the vehicle. The report indicates that the driver of the truck actually crashed into his personal vehicle, sending it off the ledge, where it landed on another car.
The truck was finally brought to a stop, but by that time, it was hanging halfway over the ledge of the parking structure. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
A resident of the apartment complex who had just parked their car next to the one who was landed on spoke to news crews.
“We heard a loud boom and my assistant was like, ‘I hope you didn’t park over there,’ and I looked in and I was like ‘Oh my God, my car is down there.” Said resident Walter Burch.
As to the cause or the reason for the crash, authorities are still investigating.
