The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported recently that a traffic accident scene in South Fulton led to a confrontation between a South Fulton Police officer and a local citizen and now has caused an inquiry by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation to commence into the alleged improper use of force.
A local man claimed that when he asked why a South Fulton Police Department officer was directing traffic at the scene of a car accident in the area, the officer pointed a tazer at his chest without apparent provocation. The man posted a video to his Instagram page after the incident, and the police department began conducting a review of the altercation that has now gotten the GBI involved.
The officer’s name was not released, but according to spokespeople for South Fulton, he was working an accident at the intersection of Roosevelt Highway and Rock Hill Road around 3:00 p.m. when the incident occurred.
