Tragedy does not observe whom it strikes. It can strike anyone from anywhere, across all races and classes. Accidents occur with no regard to whom they are happening to.
A Houston medical examiner has confirmed the identity of a 3-year old involved in a tragic accident last month. The boy was the son of former Georgia Bulldog football star Danny Ware.
Danny Josiah Ware, 3, had been riding his bicycle just a few feet away from his parents. The child’s parent had stopped to talk to an acquaintance while the child rode his bike nearby. The driver of a pickup truck had stopped in the street nearby as well.
The child then rolled in front of the pickup truck. The driver, unable to see the child, pulled slowly away. The child was struck by the pickup truck and died at the scene.
The child’s identity was confirmed to the Atlanta Journal and Constitution by the Harris County (Texas) Institute of Forensic Sciences.
The elder Ware is originally from Polk County. He played for the Georgia Bulldogs as a running back beginning in 2003. He left the team for the NFL during his sophomore season. After several years in the NFL, he retired in 2012.
Ware posted an emotional message on Facebook, asking for the prayers of friends and family to help himself and his family through this emotional time. Additionally, a fundraising campaign was started to help the family.
