A July 1st crash on Delk Road claimed the life of a 22-year-old woman. The same crash also left an 18-month-old child and another passenger injured.
The accident took place at about 12:45 p.m. on Delk Road just east of Cobb Parkway according to police.
The driver of a Ford Explorer lost control of the vehicle, crossed into the median, and rolled the vehicle. The driver was ejected from the SUV and the vehicle came to rest in oncoming traffic lanes.
The driver was identified as 22-year-old Ashleigh Smith of Marietta, Georgia. She was taken to Kennestone Hospital. She was later pronounced dead.
The 18-month-old child had been properly restrained in a child safety seat. The child was transported to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Scottish Rite for treatment of non-life-threatnening injuries.
Another passenger, identified as a 25-year-old male, was also taken the Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
