According to Atlanta Fire Rescue Department spokeswoman Janet Ward, an accident that happened late Friday has left eighteen people injured. At Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, a hotel shuttle bus and tractor-trailer wrecked on Loop Road, near the exit from I-85 northbound.
Of the victims, nine people were transported to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment, and the other half were taken to Atlanta Medical Center, Ward said.
It was not yet clear how severe the injuries were, but did say that one patient was left in critical condition.
As the markings on the bus show, it was a Hampton Inn shuttle, and was operated by MTI Limos. The shuttle bus collided with the left side of a tractor-trailer that was apparently in process of a U-turn.
The ramp from I-85 northbound to Loop Road was temporarily closed due to the crash.
