A sweet story comes out of Fort Worth, TX. A 10-year-old boy rescued a kitten after he heard cries coming from a manhole for several days.
“I came over here and I saw this little cat and I went to go reach for it, and it went in there and it started making all that noise again,” Housewright said. The boy asked a neighbor for help when he couldn’t reach the kitten. The police showed up and called animal control.
Neighbors looked on while animal control worked to rescue the kitten. The kitten finally was coaxed out of the tunnel after walking about 100 yards in the tunnel.
Housewright said ignoring the baby kitten was never an option and that he could never leave an animal to just suffer and die. The kitten was found in good condition, just scared, and was taken to the Fort Worth Animal Control to get checked out.
While this was a sweet story with a good outcome, the consequences of falling into a manhole could have been more devastating.
