Lynda Parks was born in Columbus, Ohio and raised in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. She received her undergraduate degree from Auburn University and began a career in television communications at CNN in Atlanta, Georgia. She soon married her husband, Phil and relocated to Dalton, Georgia where they raised their two children, Hannah and Drew.
After several opportunities to be in and around the courtroom over the years, Lynda developed a new passion for the law and changed careers. She spent 15 years assisting Georgia attorneys, including 7 years as a personal injury case manager. Lynda subsequently decided to go to law school and was admitted to John Marshall Law School, where she obtained her Juris Doctorate Degree. While in law school, Lynda interned with The Williams Firm, P.C., in Marietta and with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Federal Hearings Unit, in Atlanta.
She was awarded the John R. Ryan Scholarship and also received the Pro Bono Distinction Award. Lynda was elected by her classmates to serve as Student Bar Association Class Representative and Student Bar Association Parliamentarian. She also served as Student Ambassador and Peer Mentor.
Lynda is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and a member of the Georgia Young Lawyers’ Division. Away from the office, she enjoys comedy shows, concerts, sporting events and spending time with family.
