According to sources close to the Japanese airbag supplier, Takata Corp., the company is preparing for the exit of the company’s CEO, Shigehisa Takada, after the largest recall in automotive history because of faulty airbags.
Takata has been under scrutiny across the automotive industry and by federal regulators over problems with the airbags that span over 50 million vehicles for the past two years. Now, after the most recent death – the 11th – that have been linked to the company’s airbags, the company has said that there will be an internal reorganization within.
The 54-year old CEO has been conspicuously quiet on the matter that has been swirling around the company . Shigehisa Takada stepped moved into the position of CEO after his father, Juichiro Takada died in 2011.
