WMAZ Channel 13 CBS News reported recently that a recent motor vehicle accident occurred on Saturday, December 12 involving Georgia State Patrol troopers and Monroe County Sheriff’s Office deputies after a police pursuit that started in Monroe and ended along I-75 in Bibb County.
According to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office, the chase began in Monroe, GA and continued down area highways until a crash along Interstate 75 south in Bibb County. Chasing units requested assistance from the Georgia State Patrol at 8:55 p.m. Saturday evening. According to the Georgia State Patrol, the pursuit was brought to an end using what they call a channelization technique. Both of the passengers on the bike were charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, felony fleeing and attempting to allude, multiple traffic violations, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and theft by receiving stolen property-firearm and were arrested and taken to the Monroe County Jail.
