Tragedy struck the city of Dacula, Georgia over the weekend. Brothers Jared and Jaison Brown were involved in an auto accident on Friday morning on their way to school. Authorities report that Jaren made a left turn onto Harbins Road from Highway 316, directly into the path of an oncoming vehicle. Tragically, Jared passed away from his injuries shortly after the accident. Jaison would pass away later that evening.
The family released a statement announcing the death of Jaison and wishing to thank the staff at Gwinnett Medical Center who worked tirelessly to attempt to save Jaison’s life. Students and members of the community came together for a candlelight vigil on Friday night to honor Jared and to pray for Jaison. The principal of Dacula High School announced that the Saturday night game, which had been postponed from Friday, would be held in the boys’ honor by hosting a “brown out” where everyone would wear brown to the game.
The driver of the other vehicle was injured, but is expected to make a full recovery. Jared is remembered by friends as an exceptional student and athlete with a bright future.
