Tawanna Hopson is a native of Atlanta, Georgia. She is a graduate of Howard University, Bachelors of Art in Political Science in 2002 and Stetson University College of Law, JD in 2005. After graduation, she was admitted to the Georgia Bar in 2005.
Tawanna is an experienced litigator. She has practiced criminal defense in both federal and superior courts. Her career began with writing appellate briefs at a small federal practice law firm in Marietta, GA. Afterwards, she began working at the Atlanta Judicial Circuit Public Defender’s Office where her defended clients were charged with major felonies including murder, rape, armed robbery and drugs. These cases were successfully argued in front of juries.
Tawanna is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their children and cheering on her beloved Atlanta Falcons.
