Attorney Joel Hausman was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. After attending the University of Pittsburgh and obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, he attended that University’s School of Law, where he was a member of the school’s championship Niagara International Moot Court Competition team.
After graduating from law school in 1984, Joel obtained a Pennsylvania law license and joined a general practice firm where he was exposed to a wide array of practice areas, and obtained first-hand experience in criminal defense, transactional and business litigation, real estate, bankruptcy, domestic relations, and appellate matters. He remained with that firm for nearly twenty-five years, practicing in all trial and appellate levels of Pennsylvania’s state and federal courts. He still maintains an active license to practice law in Pennsylvania.
Facing an “empty-nest” after his two sons left for college, Joel left the frigid north in 2009 to relocate to the warm weather of Georgia, and joined a large practice devoted to the representation of injured persons. Since that time, he has exclusively focused on personal injury claims and the litigation of those cases, and he is admitted to Georgia’s state trial courts and the United States District Court for the Northern District of Georgia.
When he is not working hard to recover compensation for his injured clients, Joel can be found traveling, attending live music events, rooting on his “hometown” sports teams (Steelers, Penguins, and Pirates), and catering to the whims of his two very spoiled Frenchton pups.
