After a series of hit and runs, a 70-year-old man has been denied bond after he crashed in a restaurant on Highway 78 in Snellville, Georgia. No one inside the restaurant was hurt, but one of the wrecks was fatal.
Police reported that the man, Michael Owen Snider, was driving under the influence and hit a least a dozen cars between DeKalb and Gwinnett counties Wednesday night. Then he crashed into a John Boy’s Home Cooking restaurant.
Snider also caused a chain reaction rash that pinned one car under the bed of a tractor trailer on Stone Mountain Highway. The driver of that car was hospitalized in critical condition and the passenger was killed. Snider was also taken to a hospital for injuries. The 70 year old was charged with driving under the influence, vehicular homicide, serious injury by vehicle, reckless driving and following too closely. Additional charges are pending.
